Decisions, decisions

Why does no one tell you BEFORE you're a parent that all sorts of additional stresses will become your life the second your baby is born?  Things like:
  • is my baby eating enough?  and a sub question: Is my boob so bloody big its suffocating him while nursing?
  • I know they're supposed to sleep on their back, but this little monkey will only sleep if he's on his tummy!
  • what do you mean that little sh!t on the bus is bullying my child?
  • how to answer questions that are still hard to answer even as an adult (I throw those questions Mr. M's way).
As parents, we all experience those moments that stop us in our tracks, fill us with heart-stopping worry and anxiety, and keep you wide awake at night running scenarios through your head (4a.m. is witching hour in my house).

The latest stress to hit our household is trying to figure out the activities schedule for the upcoming season.  How many activities per child is reasonable and to what extent do you go bankrupting yourself, paying the fees for said activites?  Little Miss K. has recently mastered the cartwheel (and she's rocking it I must say!), and has expressed an interest in an associated activity - an associated activity that costs $2K + uniforms + tournaments plus plus plus!!  Now, to some, that may not seem extreme, but to us, that's insane!

So, how do you not crush your little one's dreams, but at the same time, encourage them to be all they can be?

And at the same time, how do you resolve this with your partner (if one says yes and the other says no) and not commit an offence that will land you in jail?
